Like
many people we started our RV adventures with a tent trailer.
In our case the year was 1978 and the trailer was a brand
new Coleman. Over the years we’ve “moved up” to several
different travel trailers, a 5th wheel and finally a
Class A motor home. In
2005, after years of weekend and extended RVing, we decided to
sell the house, retire early and join the ranks of the full-time
bunch, hitting the road with no particular destination in mind
except that it must have “good” weather and it must be
somewhat affordable.
For
some living in the tight confines of an RV might strain their
relationship to the breaking point but, our background includes 5
years of living aboard a sailboat, a space much smaller than most
of the RVs we’ve owned. Plus our RVs have had amenities
that we could only dream about on our sailboats.
We
are originally from the San Francisco Bay Area but, we’ve also
lived in Southern California, Indianapolis, Orlando, Las Cruces
and most recently, North Carolina.
We
have two daughters and a granddaughter, all of who live “out
west” in California and Nevada.
My
work background is in manufacturing, telecommunications and
transportation while Margo’s work background is in finance and
accounting. Sparkie, our 25-pound cocker/poodle mix, has a
background of eating treats, playing with his favorite toys and
snoozing in the sun.
